Chevy Chase Rambler
Landscape designs for the front and back were conceived for the Grossnick family residence in the early 90s, and have sinse flourished over time with the couple’s loving care for the extensive gardens. An homage to their time in Japan, an Asian aesthetic was desired showcasing a multitude of various textures and shades of green, hyphenated by poignant moments of color. Mature Japanese maples provide an interlocking lacy canopy for a rich understory of Pieris, Holly, Yew, Hostas, Heucheras, Liriope, Bleeding Heart, and a carpet of Sweet Woodruff. In the sun, Miscanthus sinensis ‘Morning Light’ and a whole host of sun-loving perennials provide an edge to the vegetable gardens, benches, and stone pathways along the edges of the garden.
